Project management and collaborative leadership

Collaborative leadership and change management

Scarlatti works with its clients to facilitate and lead industry change working across multiple organisations. In these project collaborative leadership is essential as many of the levers of control usually available to project managers are missing. By working to understand the needs and motivations of all stakeholders, Scarlatti is able to develop and implement robust, but creative, change projects. Examples of our work in this area include the Farm Business Management Initiative led by DairyNZ, the Canterbury International Education Strategy, the Data Linker project drawing together organisations across the primary sector and facilitation of the Primary Sector Group of ITOs.

 

Technology-based projects and ventures

Scarlatti has significant experience managing ventures to commercialise new technologies.  We can contribute at a range of stages in the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through to growth and expansion stages. Typically we combine the operational aspects of our project management service with analytical work to create robust plans for the future of the ventures we work with. Examples of our work in this area include market analyses and general project management for Pacific Edge, management of Container Scan for AgResearch, management of DairyBase for DairyNZ and a funding proposal for Waikato Innovation Park.

 

Monitoring and evaluation

Scarlatti enjoys working with its clients to first clarify, and then evaluate, progress towards agreed outcomes. This often involves developing a formal monitoring and evaluation plan that is used as a framework to:

  • Gather the ‘right information’ to monitor activities and progress effectively and efficiently
  • Identify opportunities for change and improvement
  • Recognise and acknowledge positive change and progress towards agreed outcomes

Examples of our work in this area include the Farmer Wellness and Wellbeing, Farm Business Management Initiative and People and Skills Measurement, all undertaken for DairyNZ.
